The way DMSO works on the body is four-fold. It

1. blocks certain types of nerve conduction – the ones that produce pain
2. reduces inflammation and swelling
3. increases blood supply to the injured area
4. stimulates healing

The pressing question that needed answering is – “Is DMSO safe?”

60 Minutes presented the question to the FDA.

Dr. Richard Crout, head of the Bureau of Food and Drug Administration, admits that no one has been reported to have died or suffered any serious illness after using it. The only side effects that have been reported are minor which includes:

• skin rashes
• hives
• headache
• nausea
• cause you to smell like garlic

However, Dr. Crout went on to state that they are still wanting to see the scientific proof that it works because no one has presented any.
